区别就是两者意思是一样的但be late to后接动词不定式而be late for后接名词，具体的不同如下
be late to中文意思是迟到
Never be late to have a first date.
be late for中文意思是做某事迟到
They chuckled, boylike, because they would be late for bed; and it was all mother Wendy's fault!
belatefor因…而迟到,做…迟到.后接名词。例：Iwillnotbelateforschool.我上学不会迟到。
I'llbelateforthemeeting.我开会要晚了。
belateto后接的是动词，表示做这个动作稍晚，迟。例：“Whywereyoulatetoschoolthismorning?“今天早上你为什么上学迟到？”
经常同以toolatetodosth这种形式出现，表示：做什么太晚了。例：Itisnevertoolatetolearn.学习从来不嫌迟。
