1. The Ant and the Grasshopper
In a field one summer's day a Grasshopper was hopping about, chirping and singing to its heart's content. An Ant passed by, bearing along with great toil an ear of corn he was taking to the nest.
"Why not come and chat with me," said the Grasshopper, "instead of toiling and moiling in that way?"
"I am helping to lay up food for the winter," said the Ant, "and recommend you to do the same."
2. The Lion and the Mouse
A big Lion lay asleep in the sun. A little Mouse ran up and down upon him, waking him up. Angry at being disturbed, the Lion caught up the Mouse and was about to kill him.
3. The Fox and the Grapes
One hot summer's day a Fox was strolling through an orchard till he came to a bunch of Grapes just ripening on a vine which had been trained over a lofty branch.
4. The Boy who Cried Wolf
A shepherd-boy, who watched a flock of sheep near a village, brought out the villagers three or four times by crying out, "Wolf! Wolf!"
5. The Tortoise and the Hare
Once upon a time a Tortoise and a Hare had an argument about who was faster. They decided to settle the argument with a race. They agreed on a route and started off the race.
6. The Dog and the Shadow
A Dog was crossing a plank over a stream with a piece of meat in his mouth. As he looked down he saw his own shadow reflected in the water beneath. Thinking it was another dog with another piece of meat, he let go of his own and jumped at the other dog. As he opened his mouth to snap at the other dog, the piece of meat he was carrying fell into the water and was lost.
7. The Four Oxen and the Lion
Four Oxen were breathing hard in the fields as they were ploughing. A Lion came upon them, and as the Oxen were tearing on with their work, the Lion made a movement as though to attack them.
8. The Milkmaid and Her Pail
A milkmaid was on her way to the market carrying two pails of milk on a yoke. As she walked along, she began to daydream about all the things she would do with the money she would make from selling the milk.
9. The Crow and the Pitcher
A thirsty Crow saw a pitcher of water. But when he tried to drink from it, he found the water level was too low. In order to raise the level of the water, he saw some stones nearby, picked them up and dropped them into the pitcher one by one.
10. The Lion, the Fox, and the Ass
A Lion, a Fox, and an Ass went hunting together. The Ass carried the game while the Lion and Fox hunted. After catching a large amount of game, they stopped to rest.

6. "老鼠和奶酪"：老鼠爬上餐桌偷取奶酪，但它太贪心了，被陷阱吓到了。
7. "狐狸和葡萄"：狐狸太矮了，够不到葡萄，于是他放弃了。
8. "蜗牛与玫瑰"：蜗牛一遍又一遍地爬上玫瑰，最终终于爬到了玫瑰的顶端。
9. "狼和羊"：狼正处于被饥饿折磨的状态，于是他决定吃掉一只羊。
10. "青蛙的战争"：青蛙为了打破一条大河而进行了战争，但最终青蛙们被消灭了。
