what是特殊疑问词。不可以引导一般疑问句
what是疑问代词，意为“什么”，经常用来提问物品、人名、电话号码、职业等。what置于句首，构成what＋系动词be＋主语的特殊疑问句，答语要针对特殊疑问词，不同于一般疑问句，不能用“yes”或“no”来回答。
一、 What + 系动词 + sb/sth?
1、询问“是什么”
What's that? It's an eraser.
那是什么?那是一块橡皮。
What's it in English? It's an orange.
它用英语怎么说?它是一个orange。
2、询问姓名
What's your name? 你叫什么名字?
My name is Amy. 我叫艾米。
3、询问职业
What's he? 他是做什么的?
He's a doctor. 他是一名医生。
4、询问状况
What's the matter?
怎么啦?(多用于表示慰问和关心)
What's the trouble?
是否有麻烦?
5、询问最爱
What's your favorite fruit? 你最喜欢什么水果?
My favorite fruit is strawberry. 我最喜欢草莓。
6、询问号码
What's Amy's telephone number?
艾米的电话号码是多少?
7、询问日期
What's the date today? 今天几号?
It's January 1st today. 今天是1月1号。
8、询问天气
What's the weather like in winter in Beijing? 北京冬天的天气怎么样?
It's cold and windy. 寒冷风大。
9、询问运算结果
What's ten plus seven? It's seventeen。
十加七等于几?十七。
10、询问外貌特征
What's she like? 她长什么样?
She is tall and thin. 又高又瘦。
注：这里的like是介词，表示“像”或“如…一样”。用于要求对方描述某人/某物特征，或给出他们的意见，也可以写成：What does she look like?

11、询问颜色
What color is your shirt? It's pink.
你的衬衫是什么颜色?粉色。
12、询问时间
What time is it? It is 8:00.
几点了?八点。

16、询问存在范围

一、what问句（what’s this/that...what color...)及回答
疑问词what对“内容”提问，常见句式有以下两种：
-What’s this/that in English?(这个/那个东西用英语怎么说？)
-This/That/It is a ruler/jacket/an orange. (这/那/它是一把尺子/一件夹克衫/一个橘子。)
-What color is the pen? (这支钢笔是什么颜色？)
-It’s black and white.(黑白的。)
